Elegant & Modern Dining Room

Today we are taking a break from all the Holiday decorating ideas and taking a look at a dining room I've been working on!  The dining room belongs to the Taylor family.  You remember when we completed their living room a few months ago, right?

Well as soon as we finished up the family room, B asked me to jump into the dining room.  Of course I was thrilled to work with B again and the wheels began turning!

Here's what the space looked like back then. . .

I put together a design board to give B and Anthony an idea of what I would like to do in the room.  Here's what I presented to them.

After talking about the different design decisions, the work began! We are not finished yet, but the room has definitely come a long way.  Here's a little before and after of the feature wall/nook so far.

The 3-D wall panels and live edge wood shelf are my favorite things in the space.  I love, love them.  The panels bring in a clean, modern vibe while the live edge gives us a rustic touch with a ton of character!   Here's the shelf before I stained it.

The stain, of course, brought in a beautiful, rich color that matches the feel we are going for in the room.

I love the way the shelf looks already, but we aren't quite done with it yet!  I have a little something else up my sleeve! :)

As you can see, the Taylor's dining room is well on it's way!  I'll be back with another update soon! :)

  1. How refreshing to not have the standard sideboard positioned in the arched alcove and what an exciting design choice (panels + live edge shelf) to work with instead! Can't wait to see the finished room.
