Dining Area/Office Progress

Well, I mentioned that we've been making some great headway on our office/dining room space lately and today I wanted to show you how things are coming along!

A while ago I showed you how we turned our photo backdrop into paint chip panels that we can actually use when we are working on design projects.  I love that these pieces are now functional art for us! :)

After we completed the panels I thought we should concentrate on the most important part of the room- the desk/dining table.  We knew we wanted something substantial that we could float in the middle of the space. We looked for a while, but nothing felt right until we took a trip to California.

As we were making our normal visits to all the Anthros and Urbans in the area, we came across Free People, which is another branch of the Urban Outfitters family.  We decided to stop in and take a look and would you believe, we spotted this. . . .

That $200 tag was on this. . .

CRAZY AMAZING price right!!! Crazy beautiful table for that price!

Immediately we started to assess the projects we had going on at the time and tried to figure out where this beautiful wood table would fit.  Then, we realized it would be the perfect piece for our own home! Of course, the main issue was that we live in Tulsa.  Luckily we were able to hire a shipping service to come pack up the piece and send it to home sweet Oklahoma!  As you can imagine, that drove the price up quite a bit.  But even after the extra fee, we still felt like the table was a great deal!

So, the piece finally made it to us a couple of weeks ago and we put it in place.  Are you ready to see how things are shaping up?

We still have a chic chandelier to hang and dining chairs to decide on, but I'm liking where we are headed!  What do you think?!

    1. Hey Jenna! :) Those are actually paint chips, not post-its. We love that because we can choose colors for clients without having to flip through a little fan deck! :) Love all your Halloween decor by the way! :)

    1. Well, thank you! :) I actually found that faceted vase/bowl at Target. I've actually gone back multiple times for another one, but I have never seen it again. :( Maybe some of the bigger cities got more stock of this particular look?

  8. I love this giant table! What a steal. I really like how it looks with just the two chairs on either side as an oversized desk. I think for dining they should be at the heads of the table and the rest of the chairs should be ones that are easily stored. Maybe some chic folding chairs (that might be an oxymoron). Whatever you do, I'm sure it will look great! Oh, and I'm loving these recent posts about your house, keep em' coming!

    1. Hey Nikki! Yes, I hadn't thought of folding chairs, but maybe some sort of stackable option would work well! :) PS- your home is looking so great! Love the bar area and that awesome blue sofa! :) Keep going design friend! Great job!
