My first day, Katherine (the visual manager) took me through all the normal first day things (filling out paper work, showing me around the store, ect). She also gave me the employee handbook which looked like this when she handed it to me.
A little closer look.
There were seeds in that little pouch! Such incredible attention to detail! I love that Anthro not only wants to inspire and treat their customers right, they want to do that for their employees as well!
I decided since I am now doing design/art projects all day, I needed a place that inspires that creativity. This is my Art Room!
This is the space just for me to come up with and create a bunch of display goodness. And of course since I am going to (hopefully) be producing super inspiring designs here, I felt the space itself needed to be inspiring. So, I am in the process of giving the area a little makeover that I will share with you later but here are few photos to give you an idea of what's going on!
Last week we weren't able to do much on the store floor besides take down old displays. Most of my time was spent in the art room dreaming up ideas for the upcoming displays and creating items for displays that were in the works when I arrived.
So, here's to a long and happy career with the store that took my breath away the moment I first walked into one a few years ago!

ahhh so fun!!! an art job is way better, but i would love to even work the retail side and i hate working retail but if i was surrounded by anthro goodness it would be great:)

ReplyDeleteSO wish I could be you right now. What an incrediable experience!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Kara! It sound like you are living the life you have always imagined. I am so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I was a visual manager at Anthropologie for a short time and the early morning call to duty was a rough part of the job, for sure! But at some point it gets "normal". And besides, the store all to yourself in the mornings is pretty dreamy! Best of luck to you!
ReplyDeleteLove your creativity and originality!!! I dream of a workspace like yours. I have a cramped 3x5 space in my garage and my dining room runneth over. Oh, to have a dedicated space. So lucky!
