JULIA'S TRADITIONAL BEAUTY

One of the most lovely ladies I know recently moved into her dream house after her husband finished his residency and took a great job in Oklahoma City. This is one of those women that makes everyone around her feel good. She is wise and warm. When we were talking about the design for her new home she said she wanted: classic and comfortable, traditional but not stuffy, beautiful but nothing too "out-of-the-box." I had previously worked on Julia's master bathroom, so I had a good sense of her style. Here is the design board I presented to her.

Julia's new home is very open and therefore the living and dining areas have to flow together seamlessly. I did this by keeping the color palette consistent and using similar patterns in each space.

We kept the newly purchased leather sofa for it's warm qualities, easy clean-up, and comfort. A tufted ottoman in the living room echos tufted chairs in the dining area- both keep things soft for two sweet girls that will be running around. A plush rug will sit on top of beautiful hardwood floors to keep things soft underfoot while also adding a pop of color!

Of course the wainscoting (in the dining room) will add a level of sophistication while the family's mission statement (which will adorn the wall above) and a beautiful family photo above the fire place mantel will make the space feel homey and warm.

  1. So I love your mood boards but wondered if you have where everything is from and how much they cost! I love your work on your teen's space at church. I am teaching Sunday School to our 1st-5th grade girls and think I need to spruce up the room. This is giving me the nudge!
