ENTRY WAY RE-INVENTED

Many of us neglect our entry way because other rooms take priority. But first impressions are important and styling your foyer to make a statement is a good idea! And as you will see, it can be simple and cost effective!!!

Before this entry way was simply a pass through. It's style and functionality were severely lacking.

The big statement comes from this sleek wall solution. Can you guess what it is? This galvanized metal is actually roofing material! And for $20 a sheet, it was at a perfect price point for the budget I was working with!

The second most important piece in the room is the rug. The white tile was not the home owner's favorite flooring, but getting something else was not in the budget or timeline. The rug solves our problem by breaking up the white tile and taking attention away from it. I like to use rugs with a pattern and/or dark colors in the entry way because of all the dirt they have to deal with.

With summer upon us, I felt displaying the straw hats would evoke a mood just perfect for this modern farmhouse!! And as you may notice they are hung on aged brass knobs that are randomly placed on the metal! Of course, these knobs can hold much more than hats. Keys, coats, and bags are sure to find a home here!

The chair rail wraps around from the living room and gave me the chance to add more texture and color.

The homeowner already had the table sitting behind her sofa. So rather than buying something, we used what she had! When searching for furniture to put in entry ways, I look at desks, sofa tables, benches, and individual chairs you can set side by side.

For a few accessories that weren't too fru-fru, I wrapped some unused sports balls in rope. The texture and shape they add are great and so was the price!

Let's break down the budget, shall we?

Metal Roofing- $20
Knobs- $5
Paint (also used in living room)- FREE
Table (from living room)- FREE
Trim- $15
Rug- $20
Hats- $3
Rope Balls- $6

TOTAL COST- $69
