A while ago we started looking for a table we could use as our bathroom vanity. One day while looking on craigslist I thought I stumbled upon the perfect piece.
It was a great height, had a drawer for storage, and was very charming. Tim took a look and readily agreed this would be coming home with us.
Although it was quite apparent someone had taken a long time to hand paint a beautiful motif, its condition was not salvageable. Plus, we had other plans for this dear ol' desk. With that, we took off her top. As we started our deconstruction it became obvious that this piece was VERY old and probably would have been quite valuable if its condition were better. We removed these square headed nails and I'm not sure why but I just really love them. I have saved them for a special project in the future.
Anyway, the plan was to pour a concrete countertop that our vessel sink would sit on top of. Because of the plumbing Tim had to modify to the drawer. By doing that we still have concealed storage and the plumbing is barely visible. Finally a little paint and it was ready to take it's place in our guest bathroom!
Stay tuned to see the rest of the bathroom- COMING SOON!
