HOT HOTEL ALERT

We stayed in some pretty impressive digs while on our California coast vacation. You see my parents own a time share with Wyndham resorts so as our Christmas present (give me trips over gifts ANY time!!!!) we were able to stay in a beautifully designed hotel! You can see from the lobby picture below that the design favored a Hollywood Regency style. The antiqued mirrors, sparkling crystal chandeliers, and chrome nailhead trim called to me from every direction!

This was our room. My favorite part had to be the houndstooth patterned carpet!!! To die for!!!

The kitchen area had a contemporary feel. The rectangular tile backsplash was oh so cool. This space did not get much use (besides a daily cup of tea we did no cooking) but it was lovely to look at!!

This is where we rested our heads each night. I thought the moldings above and around the bed were a great idea but I felt the yellow/cream wall color to be a little off for the room. Something above the bed would have been nice too.

The mirrored night stands, fur blanket, pin striped drapes, and bedside sconces all worked together to foster that glamorous feeling!!

I would have taken the headboard home in a heartbeat. Upholstered with alligator skin (yeah yeah so it's probably not real) and chrome nail heads, this little number is hot, hot, hot!

For someone who is used to staying in hotels with floral bedspreads and green carpet this was a wonderful change. As a designer I have to believe that a person's surroundings affect how they feel and function in the world. It was nice to be inspired by all the sights San Fransisco had to offer both outside and inside our hotel room!
