SWAP MEET SOCIAL

A late night and rainy morning meant no garage sale shopping for me today, so I thought I would mention the swap meet social that I attended last night. In many ways the switching shin-dig was better than garage sale shopping any day.

Glad you asked! The economic downturn has a lot of us thinking twice before we dish out the dough which is why this concept is ideal! Basically a bunch of friends get together and bring all the stuff that they don't need, want, or are just plain tired of. Then, open up the trading floor and make a deal exchanging those dust collectors and space eaters for something you will actually use. Last night I saw everything from clothes, housewares, DVDs, jewelry, and more. Those that didn't have much to trade could still get in the action by purchasing items for rock bottom rates. Best of all it was a ball for everyone involved. Quality time with friends and swap shopping= the best night ever! (ok, maybe not ever but still pretty great!)

Don't be afraid to try this trend with your group of friends. My posse has already decided this is definitely worthy of a repeat!
