TAH-DAH!!!

Once again I am a little late on Makeover Monday, but what's owning your own business if you can't set your own schedule, right?! So sorry for the delay but I hope you will agree it was worth the wait.
I started out with a plain jane small square table with great bones. All it really needed was a good sanding and refinishing, but I took it one step further. I kept the base of the table classic and timeless while I took the top in a whole new direction! By thinking out of the box I created a modern look with minimal work and money! The total cost- $10! I saved some mulah by using stain and poly left over from the kitchen island makeover. All that was left to purchase was 1 yard of burlap at $2.50 and a roll of jute for the same.
Here is a close-up of the table-top. I love the texture and interest that the jute and burlap create. Eventually I plan to procure a custom fit piece of glass to place on top for easy cleaning. I also wanted the top to be a tad bit thicker, therefore the old wood wouldn't work. Two pieces of plywood screwed together provided the width I wanted.
And here is what it looks like in the room! You may have noticed I am slowly changing different aspects of my living space. My house doesn't stay the same for long because I always get bored and want to try new ideas and live in new surroundings!
BEFORE
Let me remind you what I was working with. That's it in the middle.
Check in tomorrow for a helpful how-to!
